Mount Aconcagua is located within a Provincial Park managed by the Government of the Province of Mendoza. In order to enter this park one must get a permit according to the activity to be developed (among others: ascent, long trekking, short trekking, etc.). As the government has established that this proceeding must be made personally, we will accompany climbers to the permit office to help them complete the forms and pay the necessary fee which, in the case of foreigners, is u$s 500 each ($1500), and $500 for Argentineans. With the payment of this fee one contributes to the maintenance of the Aconcagua Provincial Park collaborating thus with its preservation and protection, as well as with the maintenance of medical service, foresters and rescue service (helicopter).
