About the gear-carrying Mules
This strong animal was the main way of transportation for the armies that fought for the liberation of South America. Mules move with great confidence around mountainous country and their strong physical appearance allows them to be loaded with heavy gear without any problem.
The negative aspect of these animals, is their unbreakable character. For that reason we rely on a great team of people who have dedicated their life to countryside work and to breeding animals: LOS ARRIEROS (The muleteers). By their own familiar tradition, they understand and know how to deal with these animals. From Puente del Inca up to Confluencia, and from here to Plaza de Mulas, and return, your loads will be carried by mules. Each animal can take a maximum of 60 kilograms load and each climber has the right to transport up to 30 kilograms in each stage of the way up. We recommend to bring a bag to cover the load when transported by the animals.

About load transportation up to high camps

To allow our passengers to move with less weight from and to camps and thus, to keep their energies up and concentrated for summit day, Andes Ascensiones counts on the help of  "porters". These persons appeared together with the need of people and expeditions which, due to their logistics, must move an important amount of equipment towards high fields.

Expenses originated by abandoning the planned itinerary

The price of the itinerary is fixed for group services so as to be able to have more and better services at a lower cost. In case you quit  the itinerary at any moment and by any reason whatsoever (personal reasons, disease, among others), you begin to have services in a private way. The extra expenses that you will have to afford in those cases are: load-carrying mules or saddle-mules in case of need (a mule from Plaza de Mulas to Puente del Inca  costs approximately u$s 120), transportation from Puente del Inca to the city of Mendoza, etc. When leaving the itinerary the company will include this transportation by regular bus, but should you prefer a private transfer, it has an extra cost. The nights at the hotel can be used out of date. But in case you need extra nights you are to afford them separately.

Personal Insurance
By paying the ascent fee, one contribute to the maintenance of Aconcagua Provincial Park, collaborating with its preservation and protection, as well as the maintenance of medical services, forester and rescue (helicopter). You have all these services included while being in the Park, from the moment you pay the permit and during the specific period; but once out of the park, both evacuation and medical services are afforded by Andes Ascensiones and by your own Personal Accident Insurance.

Though our Firm holds a Civil Liability Insurance, to climb Mount Aconcagua is fundamentally required you hold an Accident Insurance Policy. So, please, we recommend you to consult your Insurance Company. If you consider it convenient, our Company may help you with these proceedings.

RESERVATIONS
In order to confirm reservations, Andes Ascensiones requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
The remaining balance must be paid, at the latest, once you arrive in Mendoza, before expedition departure.

CANCELLATIONS
In case of canceling a reserve once the required deposit has been made,
Andes Ascensiones will keep a credit during one years. Once this period has been surpassed the validity of this credit expires. You will have the possibility of obtaining this credit only by notifying the cancellation 30 days before the expedition starts.
